James Gregory Paine came to be Chef Gregory in a very round-about
way. Raised in Alpharetta, Georgia, Gregory graduated from Milton
High School with a scholarship to the Savanna College of Art and
Design. Excelling in Graphic Design, but frustrated by "Having
to Sit", Gregory was drawn to sculpture, where his "Wild
Side ran FREE". He graduated with a BFA in Sculpture from
Georgia State, and opened Blue Comet Art Studio and had a lustrous
career, producing over 150 works with placements in Corporate
and Private Collections.
However, another of his Passions came calling - "The Bicycle"
-Gregory became obsessed, and wanted a life with the wind in his
hair. Becoming a Bike Courier, Gregory climbed the ladder of a
"Rights of Passage" type of culture where a "To
Die by the Wheel" mentality dominated. Driven to be the best
- Chef Gregory realized that the advantage of being a bike courier
was in honing his skills at dealing with the corporate elite and
forming lasting impressions.
It wasn't long before he was "Snatched" right off his
feet by his Life Companion, and had to think about home and family
Another passion flared, and fueled by the desire to be "Different",
Gregory entered Culinary School, where his life experiences helped
him prevail in a profession in which "only the strong can
survive". Graduating with honors, Chef Gregory gained experience
at highly reputable private clubs such as Ansley Golf Club, and
was named one of Atlanta's top caterers.
Having fed the masses - Chef Gregory's passion for "Absolute
Truth in Food" forced him to open his business and Chef Gregory
was born - a Private Chef service that excels in unique flavors,
food textures, and stunning visual presentation. He offers In-Home
Weekly Meals, Special Nights, Grand Occasions and Spectacular
Outdoor Events.
Chef Gregory resides in Woodstock, Georgia with his wife Genell,
four-year old daughter Margeaux, and Trusty Companion Maddy (black
lab). When not in the kitchen, you're likely to find him on the
golf course or his mountain bike.
